[Class 64 (iii)] [Also in Group XXII] A heat exchange tube or plate is formed with spines 28 gouged out of the material of the tube or plate. The spines are formed by cutting helical grooves 26 in the tube &c. and twisting and bending outwards the strips removed from the grooves.
