Abstract

475,394. Pipe joints. BUDERUS'SCHE EISENWERKE. March 24, 1937, No. 8739. Convention date, March 30, 1936. [Class 99 (i)] In a pipe joint of the kind in which packing is compressed round a spigot 2 and within a socket 1 by a gland ring 4 which screws into the socket, the packing comprising two or more rings of different materials, the ring 12 adjacent the gland ring being of circular cross-section before compression, and of a non-metallic material which is harder and more capable of resisting corrosion than that of the packing- ring 3.
