Abstract
469,256. Paper &c. containers. UNIVERSAL SOC. ANON. COMMERCIAL E. INDUSTRIAL. Feb. 21, 1936, No. 5260. Convention date, Feb. 27, 1935. [Classes 18, 66, and 94 (ii)] Paper &c. containers are formed on a mandrel from blanks, Fig. 1, with wall parts I... IV and a longitudinal seam part A. The top portion, which is folded to form the closure, comprises fold lines a, b, c, d, e, presenting triangular faces f, f<1>, at each corner, which are folded together either inwardly outwardly to lie against the faces h, while the faces g are pressed inwardly, Figs. 2 and 4. A paper or metal strip E is then placed over the upper edge, as far as line c, and is firmly pressed into posi. tion. The bottom of the container may be reinforced by a tray-like outer bottom adhered thereover. The material of the container may be treated with paraffin, casein, albumin &c., or it may be formed from blanks comprising two or more layers of paper adhered together by casein &c. The distances i-k, i-k<1> forming the base of the triangles f, f<1>, are preferably “ of each of the sides e.
