Abstract

416,212. Pistons; piston packing. JACKSON, A., and TENNANT, O. L., 469, Eddy Street, San Francisco, U.S.A. Nov. 20, 1933, No. 32301. Convention date, Feb. 21. [Class 122 (i).] In a fluid-pressure lifting-jack,the piston comprises a head 11 welded to arcuate skirt portions 13. The packing comprises arcuate bands 14 of leather &c. secured to the skirts 13, an interposed band 16 of felt &c. impregnated with lubricant, and a flanged rubber or like plate 17, 18 mounted between plates 19 secured to the piston head by a central bolt passing through an enlarged aperture which permits lateral movement.
