Abstract

828,444. Garage lifts. PROISY, G. May 4, 1956 [March 3, 1956], No. 13768/56. Class 78(3). The vehicle engaging member of a garage lift comprises arms 9-12 pivoted at 2 to the top of the piston-rod 1 of a fluid pressure actuated ram. Each arm carries a sliding lifting pad 17 and is welded to a perforated plate 3-6 located on the arm at such a height that, when the arms are assembled on the spigot 2, they all lie in the same plane. Depending from each arm is a member 13, the tip 14 of which bears against the side of the rod 1. The tops of the arms taper outwardly and laterally to enable vehicles to pass over the arms when they are fully lowered.
