Abstract
364,963. Capillary-action lubricating. WHITELEY, W., Woodside, Elland, York. shire, and POWRIE, T. K., 10, Greenlaw Avenue, Paisley. April 13, 1931, No. 10747. Addition to 312,862, [Class 12 (iii), Lubricators &c.]. [Class 12 (iii).] A traveller ring A of a spinning, doubling, or like frame is lubricated by means of a wick E threaded in and out around the whole or a portion of the ring through holes K, the two ends of the wick communicating with an oil pad housed on or in the ring plate or in a separate ring holder. The portions of the wick in the interior of the ring may lie in an annular groove, which may be oblique, or in a series of recesses, or, as shown, these portions may be supported on a shoulder A<3> in the ring. In a modification, the wick is not threaded but is supported wholly on the shoulder A<3> and has a wire core.
