Abstract
417,907. Lubricating and mounting arrangements for spinning-rings. SOC. ANON. OFFICINA MECCANICA ST. ANDREA-NOVARA, 18, Via Leonardo da Vinci, Novara, Italy. Jan. 15, 1934, No. 1467. Convention date, Jan. 14, 1933. [Class 120 (ii).] In an automatic lubricating arrangement for a ring and traveller one or more passages 2, Figs. 1 and 2, are formed in the body of the ring and are filled with a wick 3 the two ends of which dip into a lubricant reservoir 4, small radial ducts 6 free of any wick or packing feeding lubricant from the passages 2 to the ring surface 11 the lubricant being removed by the traveller 5 in passing over the ends of the ducts 6. The annular reservoir 4 is protected by the split ring 8 which serves to lock the ring 1 in the ring rail. One lubricant reservoir may serve two or more adjacent rings while, in a modification, the reservoir may be provided in a mounting ring 10, Fig. 5, the cover 11 being integral with the ring 1.
