Abstract

342,628. Bearings. HOWARD & BULLOUGH, Ltd. and WALSH, J., Globe Works, Accrington. May 27, 1930, No. 16254. [Class 12 (i).] A bearing for the spindles of spinning, twisting and winding frames of the type described in Specification 19871/12, [Class 12 (i), Bearings &c.], has a ring-like member 9 positioned between the hoop spring 6 and the bearing 2. Alternatively or in addition a ring 9 may be used between spring 6 and the inner face of the wall of the bolster 3. In a modification ring-like members 9, 11, Fig. 8, and hoop springs 6, 10, are arranged alternately between the bearing and bolster. The rings 9, 11 may be split. The hoop spring 6 has a tag 7 the end of which engages a groove 8 in the bearing tube 2 and the central portion of which spring- ingly engages the bolster 3. The ring 9 may be flattened at the points of contact with the hoop spring 6.
