Abstract
360,156. Drying textile fabrics. NORTON & CO., Ltd., SIR J. F. and NORTON, D. G., Adelphi Iron Works, Salford, Manchester. Oct. 11, 1930, No. 30502. [Class 34 (i).] Textile fabrics, particularly of artificial silk, are dried by passage in open width, after a preliminary warming, over a suction box drawing a large volume of air through the fabric. The mouth of the suction box a has an untarnishable metal gauze cover backed by a perforated brass plate. The box as a whole is adjustable laterally on rollers g by a handle i. Glass rods e support the fabric as it reaches and leaves the box.
