Abstract

336,540. Fleissner, J. E., and Fleissner, E., (trading as Fleissner &; Sohn, C.). Feb. 23, 1929, [Convention date]. Drying materials in long lengths.-Cotton or wool slivers P are dried by passage over perforated drums T under suction placed closely together with internal cover plates D extending to the meeting surfaces of the drums from the vacuum so that suction passes the material from one drum to the next. Air drawn by fans from the drums passes over heating surfaces and is distributed equally above and below the drums. The cover plates D are adjustable and so arranged that suction on one drum is cut off from the material slightly before suction on the next drum causes it to transfer.
