Abstract
Ammonium chloride is precipitated from the mother lye obtained from the ammonia soda process by means of a large excess of ammonia and carbon dioxide, the excess of ammonium bicarbonate being subsequently removed by heating before the precipitation of a further quantity of sodium bicarbonate. A system for the precipitation is described which may or may not include a saturator for sodium chloride. Specification 131,870, [Class 1 (ii), Inorganic compounds, other than &c.], is referred to.
