Abstract
Guanidine thiocyanate is prepared by passing ammonia through molten ammonium thiocyanate without addition of heavy metal oxides or salts. It is preferred to agitate the reaction mass, and to recycle residual ammonia after removal of hydrogen sulphide therefrom. Specification 29308/97, [Class 2, Acids and salts, Organic &c.], is referred to.
