Abstract
Thiuram sulphide R2N-CS-Sx-CS-NR2 in which R is hydrogen or a hydrocarbon radicle and x is a numeral 1, 2, 3, &c. is added to sulphuric acid as an inhibiting agent in pickling processes &c. Tetra-alkylthiuram sulphides, e.g. tetramethylthiuram disulphide, are referred to and mixtures of such sulphides with or without other inhibitors or foam-producing agents may be used.ALSO:Thiuram sulphide R2. N-CS-Sx-CS-N.R2 in which R is hydrogen or a hydrocarbon radicle and x is a numeral 1, 2, 3 &c. is added to acids to act as an inhibiting agent in pickling processes &c. Tetraalkyl thiuram sulphides, e.g. tetramethylthiuram disulphide, are referred to and mixtures of such sulphides with or without other inhibitors or foam-producing agents may be used.
