Air and gases, moistening.-Air and other gases are given a definite moisture content by passing over correspondingly selected water soluble salts &c. which are kept moistened during the time of contact. Chlorides of potassium, sodium, calcium, and magnesium, nitrates of ammonia, calcium, and zinc, crystallised phosphoric acid, and caustic potash are mentioned.
