Abstract

The compound Na2CO3, 3NaHCO3 described in Specification 202,678 is produced by passing carbon dioxide saturated with moisture at 82 DEG C. over pure dry sodium carbonate at 95 DEG C. with agitation. A composition containing more carbondioxide than is in normal sodium carbonate but less than is in the compound to be prepared may be used instead of sodium carbonate.
