Abstract
348,009. Fastenings operated from a distance. HEDGES, A. E., Kingston, Taunton, Somerset. Feb. 13, 1930, No. 2698/31. Divided on 342,907. [Class 44.] The operation of any of the usual latches or bolts of motor-vehicle doors actuates supplementary means to lock all the doors of the vehicle. A barrel lock 13 rotates a spindle 5 to which is secured a pulley 15 retained by a spring-pressed plunger and keyed to a chain or Bowden cable 17. This cable passes through a tube 19 to the opposite side of the vehicle where it actuates a second pulley 15 mounted on a spindle 5. To each of the spindles 5 is secured the supplementary locking means which in Fig. 3 comprises a disc 7 with pivoted bolts 8 and in Fig. 6 a turn button 25.
