Abstract
334,896. Schu, J. June 11, 1929. Fusible cut-outs.-In neon-lamp signs &c. a fuse F is inserted in the low tension circuit of the open-circuit transformer, and a co-operating member 8 is connected td the high tension side of the transformer, so that on overload or breakdown of the lamp a spark jumps from the member 8 to the fuse, melting the latter and breaking the lowtension circuit. The member 8 is formed as an adjustable pointer so as to function when a predetermined potential has been reached. The fusible wire 3 is held between two strips 1 of mica, which are perforated at 2, and are held together by two metal slips 4; the, clips 4 are inserted in the copper clips 5 on the terminals 11 of the low tension circuit. In a modification, one end of the fuse may be connected to earth and the other end to a knife switch which is placed in the low tension circuit and is opened by a spring on fusing of the wire.
