Abstract
1,089,675. Fusible cut-outs. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. May 4, 1965 [May 6, 1964], No. 18865/64. Heading H2G. The fusible element 3 of a fuse for use in D.C. circuits is formed from sheet material and lies in one plane, but has a length much greater than the shortest distance between its ends. It is embedded in arc-inhibiting material 4 and so, under low overhead conditions, produces a long arc path in relation to the length of the fuse-link. The element may be made of silver by photo-etching and has holes 5. Each fuselink may have more than one element.
