Producers.-In a carburetted water gas set, after the air blast, oil is vaporized in the carburettor and superheater and passed back through the fuel bed, which is subsequently steamed, the deposited carbon being removed. The plant comprises a generator 1, carburettor 2, and superheater 3, and, after blasting with air through conduit 6, the blast gases being burned in the carburettor and superheater, oil is admitted by pipe 26 to the carburettor. The vaporized oil passes through the superheater, and is led by a conduit 14 to the fuel bed, through which it passes, either up or down, and escapes by a conduit 24 to the wash box 4. A subsequent steam run passes through the carburettor and superheater in which the water gas may be carburetted.
