324,002. Tonkin, R., Wilson, J. S., Thomas, J., and Scottish Dyes, Ltd. July 9, 1928. Dye preparations; particular temperatures, drying at. - Finely divided anthraquinone vat dyestuff powders are made by drying watery pastes of the dyestuffs at temperatures not exceeding 50‹ C., with or without reduced pressure. Dextrine or other dispersing agents may be added during or after the drying process, or the products may be ground with soap after drying. In examples (1) caledon brown R standard paste is dried slowly at 50‹ C. in an oven, (2) caledon blue R standard paste is mixed with dextrine and dried, and (3) caledon red BN standard paste is mixed with soap and dried in a vacuum oven.
