Abstract
321,214. Wood, C. W. Aug. 2, 1928. Valves fitted with independently - actuated supplementary valves. - In the elbow casting 1 of a ball or float actuated valve for water cisterns, an auxiliary plunger-type, valve 11 is housed in the horizontal portion of the casting, the purpose of the auxiliary valve being to obviate the shutting off of the water at the main during repairs. The auxiliary valve is normally left off its seat by a cap 12 which is screwed into the end of the valve housing and bears on the stem of the valve. The stem 9 is provided with a shoulder 13 which closes the opposite end of the housing when the valve is secured in the open position.
