Lift valves; closure members; outlets. - A water tap of the kind which includes an auxiliary check valve which shuts off water when the main valve is removed, comprises an inlet part a the discharge end of which is screwed internally and externally to receive a seating bush c and a discharge nozzle f. A check valve b with downwardly projecting stem, is adapted to close upon the upper end of the part e, and a loose valve g on the lower end. The valve is opened by slightly unscrewing the part f, whereupon the valve g falls, and is followed by the valve b, but not sufficiently far to close the latter. If the pin s is removed, the part f with the valve g may be removed internally for repairs etc.; the valve b remains on its seat and closes the supply passage. An antisplash device i may be fitted in the nozzle. Specifications 3067/98 and 22598/10 are referred to.
