Ball l and float valves. - A feedwater regulator comprising a double beat valve actuated by a float arranged in a chamber connected at the top and bottom to the boiler has the valve member provided with a balancing piston 24 controlled by a pilot valve to compensate for the difference in area of the beats The pilot 2, which co-operates with a seat on the main valves is connected to a weighted member 12 coupled by a lever 8 to a reciprocating float 1 guided by ribs 2. The float is adjustably connected to the lever by a screwed rod 6 adapted' to be rotated by a socket 36 rotatably mounted in the casing and engaging a squared part of the rod. The weight 12 may be lifted by means of an external handle for testing.
