Abstract

312,358. Elin Akt.-Ges. fiir Elektrische Industrie. May 25, 1928, [Convention date]. Regulation, automatic; dynamos and motors combined for transmitting power; supplying consuming devices.-In an arc welding system wherein the electrode feed motor 7 is controlled according to the arc voltage the armature of the motor is fed by a control generator 10 the excitation of which is varied automatically in opposite senses according to whether the arc voltage is too high or too low. The generator has opposed field coils 11, 12, in series with resistances 17 and 18 respectively. The resistance 17 is short-circuited bv the regulator 16 according to whether the arc voltage is above 16 volts or below 6 volts respectively. The generator and motor field coils are fed by an exciter 13 arranged on a common shaft with the generator and a driving motor 26. Specifications 113,827, 202,063, and 259,615 are referred to.
