Washing, processes and materials for. - Wool especially rich in suint is washed in a concentrated suint liquor bath of the type which is periodically stopped for cleaning, a quantity of fresh suint liquor or lower concentration and exceeding one litre per kilogram of the entering wool being added intermittently, while simultaneously a quantity of concentrated liquor in excess of one litre per kilogram is removed from the bath, so as to maintain the bath at about 3‹ BÚ., impurities being removed by a purifying operation in which the separated mud is discharged automatically. The excess concentrated suint liquor may be removed in removing the mud in the form of sludge.
