Abstract

Stays.-A casement window of the kind having doublejointed hinges permitting an opening at the hinged edge has a spring-extended, telescopic stay 6, 6a which tends to open the sash when released. The sash is retained in any position by a serrated plate 4 on the sill and a plate 8 on the sash adapted to engage same or by a recessed plate on the sill and a pivoted hand-operated catch on the sash.
