Abstract
226,994. Lardner, H. W., and Mortlock, A. J. Feb. 2, 1924. Casement fastenings, cockspur type. - In a casement fastener of the cockspur type the attachment plate 1 to which the securing arm 2 is pivoted is provided with a slotted lug or guide 5 in which the operative end of the arm 2 works and which rides on to a boss or roller 9 secured to the slotted plate 10, secured to the window frame, to support the weight of the window and prevent sagging. The corners 8 of the lug 5 are rounded to facilitate the engagement of the Jug with the boss or roller 9. The lug 5 serves both to guide the arm 2 and to avoid straining the pivot 6 when the casement is being opened or closed by the handle part 12 of the arm 2. A second hole 7 is provided for the pivot to enable the fastener to be used on casements opening tn the right or left hand.
