Abstract

171,731. Timings, S. April 7, 1921. Stays. - Relates to a notched stay bar of the kind used for holding doors and windows in the partlyopen position by engagement with a plate secured to the door, and in which the door &c. must be nearly closed before the parts can be disengaged. According to the invention, the notched bar 1 loosely-jointed at 3 to the frame 4 engages with a slotted plate 8 hinged to the door so as to provide for the changing angular position of the bar as the door is adjusted. The pivoted end of the bar is formed as a flat piece 5 whereby the bar can be detachably engaged with slot of the attachment plate. Projections 15, 16 on the attachment plate provide additional guiding or bearing surface for the stay bar. The stay bar may be made of sheet metal.
