Abstract
268,532. General Electric Co., Ltd., Royle, W., and Jones, L. N. March 9, 1926. E le c tromagnetic switches.-A switch 5, 6 controlling the supply from the source 1, 2 is actuated to the closed position by energizing the coil 7 which is connected across the source when the push-button 8 is closed by hand. When closed, the main switch is retained closed against the action of gravity even when the closing button is released by the same coil 7 which is then energized from an alternative circuit from the mains through an economy resistance 10 and an opening press-button 9. This push-button or its equivalent may be opened automatically on overload. The arrangement of circuits shown obviates the use of auxiliary contacts on the main switch for the retaining circuit.
