494,395. Protective cut-out arrangements. BRITISH THOMSON -HOUSTON CO., Ltd. March 10, 1938, No. 7497. Convention date, March 11, 1937. [Class 38 (v)] When the current through the load a exceeds a certain value, an overload switch c is opened by current winding b, thereby inserting an additional resistance d in series with the load, this resistance including the heating element g of a thermally operated switch e with contact f by which the load circuit is opened after a predetermined heating of the element. The switches close when the current fails or the heating element cools. Resistance d may be combined with winding b to assist in holding contacts c open.
