Abstract

672,050. Control systems for consumption apparatus ; switching systems. SVIT, NARODNI PODNIK. Feb. 22, 1950 [March 3, 1949], No. 4520/50. Class 38 (iv). To obtain rapid energization of an inductive load 3, such as the electromagnetic clutch on a copying machine tool, supplied from a direct current source 1 upon closure of a switch 4, and also to reduce the arcing at the switch contacts upon opening, the load is supplied through two resistances 2 and 9 to reduce the time constant of the circuit and the relay coil 5 of the actuating switch 4 is connected through a switch 7, frequently operated by the machine, across the switch 4 and resistance 9, the ratio of the resistance values of relay coil 5 to resistor 9 being made about ten but permitting the relay coil to be sufficiently energized when switch 4 closes to maintain this latter switch closed until switch 7 is opened.
