Abstract
552,187. Window opening and closing apparatus. WILMOT-BREEDEN, Ltd., and BREEDEN, C. L. Dec. 9, 1941, No. 15883. [Class 20 (iii)] [Also in Group XXXVII] Electrically operated means for opening and closing a window, and adapted for use on road vehicles, comprises an electric motor d operating the window b through mechanism a, the motor being controlled by a manual switch f and a delayed action automatic switch arranged in series, the latter interrupting the supply of current to the motor after the window has reached its fully closed position. When the reversible switch f is operated to raise the window, a contact I is closed, and current from the source e passes through a coil j heating a'deformable strip g which separates the contacts h, i, and breaks the circuit through the motor d. The switch I may be dispensed with, and its leads connected as at x. In a modification, the thermally operated switch may be replaced by an electromagnetic switch.
