Weight power-storing mechanism. - A weight motor for a gramophone &c. in which the weight has only a small drop comprises a. train of toothed gearing 18 - - 27 arranged on two parallel shafts 1, 2, one end of the gear being connected by a ratchet 17 and pawl 16 with a drum 6 carrying a cord 10 which is passed over pulleys 11 to the weight which operates the drum and gearing in one direction, and the second shaft 2 being geared bv bevel gearing 29 - - 32 and worm 37 and worm wheel 36 to the shaft 34 carrying the record holding table or other shaft to be driven. A handle 9 for operating the drum to wind up the weight and the usual speed governing device 39 may be provided.
