Abstract

260,757. Nicholls, E. C., and Newton, G. T. Oct. 21, 1925. Air, moistening.-The condenser-water of a refrigerating plant is cooled and the cooling-air therefor is moistened in apparatus comprising an upper chamber e fitted with corrugated perforated trays or plates f and spray pipes g, the cooling- air being circulated through the chamber by a fan g<3>. The water collects on a sloping floor e<1> and is led through a depending sealing-pipe e<2> into a tank a connected by a pipe c to a second tank b from which the cooled water is returned to the condenser by a pipe d at the bottom. The moist air is discharged at h for use in rooms &c.
