Abstract

284,919. Robinson, W. W. June 7, 1927. Scrubbers 8 and washers for connection with furnace flues comprise a shell 1 with a suction fan 38 fitted in a removable outlet cover 3 and a perforated tray 8 supporting filtering material such as coke. A bottom compartment 2 has a trap 6 and drain 7 leading from an outlet 5 in its top wall 4. Steam nozzles 13, 14 are arranged respectively in the inlet 10 and the upper portion of the shell, and water nozzles 33, 34 are located in a compartment 12 below the tray 8 and adjacent the upper steam nozzle. A baffle 9 is fitted above the filtering material.
