Pulverulent-fuel and blowpipe burners. - Converging sheets of pulverulent fuel or gas discharged from chambers 21 through a throat 31 into the combustion chamber 32 of a furnace are broken up with turbulence by the impingement thereon of air currents supplied through passages 42, 43, 44 formed in and around an air register 41 and containing vanes 50, 49 which are arranged at various angles. The vanes 50 may in some cases be pivotally mounted in the passages so as to be angularly adjustable. The air register 41 consists of two curved sides 45, 46 supporting a triangular member 48 by the vanes 49 and is adjustably mounted on screws carried by a flange 24 by which the chambers 21 are bolted to the furnace front 33. The fuel chambers are provided with several fuel inlet pipes 22.
