Pulverulent and liquid fuel furnaces.-Powdered and liquid fuels are burnt either separately or simultaneously in a burner comprising a powdered fuel and primary air conduit 8 fitted with an axially adjustable outlet 10 and a liquid fuel pipe discharging through an atomizer mounted on an adjustable pipe 12. The liquid fuel pipe is secured in position by a yoke 17 adjustable along two rods 18. The secondary air enters through a register 3 fitted with simultaneously adjustable doors 4 and enters the furnace through a conical inlet 1 provided with inwardly extending inclined vanes 2. The powdered fuel and air mixture issuing from the conduit 8 impinges on an impeller plate 14 provided with inwardly struck vanes 15 to set the mixture whirling. The mixture may be supplied to the conduits either through a curved conduit or a snail-shaped housing 11.
