Abstract

574,313. Gas burners. SCHIELDROP, B. H. July 26, 1944,. No. 14263. [Class 75 (i)] Gas (or air) discharged from a bellmouthed jet 1 and currents of air (or gas) discharged from equally spaced jets 7 surrounding the jet 1 are supplied to the furnace 14 through a burner block 9 having a central passage formed of a cylindrical portion 10 followed by a venturi portion 11 having a throat or constriction 12 in or beyond which combustion starts. The jets 7 may be parallel to or inclined away from the axis of the jet 1 and are arranged at an angle to produce a whirling discharge.
