Abstract
237,479. Mitchell, O. Nov. 24, 1924. Paving-blocks comprise a foundation block a and a rubber or like facing b of an area smaller than that of the foundation block so as to provide expansion joints for the rubber units of a roadway or pavement. The foundation blocks may be of fireclay, concrete, wood, &c., and the rubber blocks may be secured to such blocks by a dovetail engagement, as in Fig. 1, or by moulding. The rubber blocks may be removable, or secured to the blocks a by cementing. The blocks b may have recesses d to key with the foundation.
