Abstract

261,114. Chappat, O. Aug. 18, 1925. Block paving. - Relates to paving comprising slabs each formed of blocks or setts 1 of stone or wood arranged side by side in a mould and united by binding material such as concrete or pitch 8, and in which the edges of the blocks form the lateral edges of the slab itself. According to the invention, pins 7 embedded in the sides of the slab engage correspondng recesses 9 in adjacent slabs. The slabs are laid in transverse rows so as to break joint and with the pins 7 running transversely or longitudinally of the road.
