Abstract
233,614. Sterling Telephone & Electric Co., Ltd., Miller, T. D. Ward-, Holbeach, W. M., and Jones, R. C. Nov. 20, 1924. Addition to 227,590. Vacuum tubes. - A valve holder of the type described in the parent Specification comprises an insulating plate 4 carrying sockets 5, a base 1 adapted for fastening to a panel and engaging above and below the plate so as to limit its movement, and shock-absorbing mountings, such as spongy rubber rings 9, interposed between the plate and the base. A flange 6 on the plate extends between the rings. A flange 3 on the top of the base retains the upper ring, and the lower ring is held by an insulating washer 7 secured by metal tags 8, which are connected with the sockets and with external leads. Ribs 10 on the base engage with recesses in the flange 6 and rings to prevent rotation. The sockets are mounted with their tops below the surface of the plate to purevent damage due to wrong insertion. In a modification for use as an adapter, the lower end of the base is closed by a disc carrying contact pins for engagement with the usual sockets of a holder. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 242,443.
