Abstract

251,397. Terry & Sons, Ltd., H., and Terry, A. V. March 16, 1925. Vacuum tubes.-Coiled springs, secured to the underside of a thermionic valve-holder, extend axially of the holder and pass through the panel so as to form connections for the sockets. As shown, the springs have parts of different diameter; the parts b of larger diameter are between the holder a and the upper surface of the panel c, and the parts b of smaller diameter extend through apertures in the panel and are secured by coiled springs b<2>. The upper ends of the springs are secured to the sockets s and are housed in a slot in the holder so as to prevent undue compression during insertion of the valve. A rubber ring e is interposed between a flange on the holder and a flange d<1> on the housing and acts as a buffer during removal of the valve. According to the Provisional Specification, a central projection is provided on the holder to limit its downward movement.
