Abstract

195,565. Lancaster, E. R. July 25, 1922. Gates.-In a sliding gate rollers or wheels 14 are provided at the upper end to run on supporting rails 1 extending and at the lower end eyes 16 or rollers &c. engage vertical guides 6 spaced from the posts 2. Counterweights 20 are connected to the gate by ropes &c. 17 passing over guide pulleys 27 and attached to eyes &c. at the top of the gate. Additional weights may be provided with cords passing over guidepulleys to eyes at the lower part of the gate &c. A spring-controlled roller &c. may be used instead of counter-weights. The pulleys may be mounted in ball-bearings or eyes running on rods may he used. Specification 175,136 is referred to.
