Abstract

Skein holders and swifts.-A swift or hankcarrier for use in winding into or from hanks or skeins comprises an axle and end plates b and wire supports d one or more of which are pivoted by means of extensions f in holes c in the end plates. The supports are held in their operative positions by slots g in the discs and are removed therefrom by pinching or expanding them according as the extensions f turn outwardly, as shown, or inwardly. The holes c may be radially or otherwise arranged. By turning one of the supports as shown in Fig. 3 a hank may be placed on or removed from the carrier, and by adjusting one or more of the supports in different holes the holder may be adapted to hanks of different sizes.
