Abstract

258,882. Bobenrieth, C. Sept. 24. 1925, [Convention date]. Skein holders and swifts.-In a reel or holder for skeins of the kind in which the hub consists of three pieces, a central piece to receive the spokes and two caps to retain them, the spokes 1 are resilient and are curved and bent at their ends downwardly and to one side so that the braces 3, which are formed integrally with the spokes, are arranged in a plane behind that of the spokes. The braces are undulated to facilitate reeling, and the spokes are bent at their inner ends to engage the hub. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also a construction wherein, in order to limit the expansion of the reel when reeling artificial silk or like material, each brace is bent to form a triangular part so formed that the base thereof consists of two overlapping transverse parts to prevent the yarn, from entering therein, and, in order to adjust the perimeter of the reel, a cord 14, Fig. 3, extends through all the triangular parts, one end being secured to one of the parts and the other to an adjustable ring 15. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
