Abstract

134,163. Jackson, W. J. Mellersh-, (Files, W. R.). March 31, 1919. Fire-bars and grates.-Inclined grates of the kind comprising transverse rocking bars arranged in two series adapted to be rocked independently, and a dumping-grate at the lower end, are provided, as shown in Figs. 1 and 3, with rocking bars having perforated curved front plates 18 formed integral with end plates to which bars 25 for supporting removable grate bars 28 are secured by bolts. The bars 28 are formed with lugs 29 which engage with recesses in the curved plates 18 and with recesses 31 engaging with the bars 25. The end plates of the rocking bars are provided with lugs to which the actuating-rods 45, 46 are attached. The dumping-grate 16 comprises a curved perforated plate 36, a curved front portion 38, and a slotted flat portion 35. The main grate is arranged in two sections side by side, the bars being pivoted in inclined side and central bars 13.
