Abstract

1,210,769. Pressurized dispensing containers. AEROSOL INVENTIONS & DEVELOPMENT S. A. April 11, 1969 [April 16,1968], No. 18702/69. Heading F1R. In a pressurized dispenser including at least two containers 1 and 17 for separately holding liquids to be dispensed and a valve housing 6 containing a valve member 5 controlling flow from the two containers, a check valve 22 controls flow from one of the containers into the valve housing. A baffle 27, the base of the outer container, Fig. 3 (not shown), or a dip tube, immediately upstream of the ball valve provide means which reduce or prevent liquid splashing against the ball valve when the dispenser is shaken. A groove 18 in the lower portion of the valve member 5 provides a passage past the shoulder 12 with the discharge valve closed. The ball check valve may be mounted at the end of a dip tube (20), Fig. 3 (not shown), remote from the valve housing 6. The dip tube (20) connects the outer container to a valve housing side passage (19). In a further embodiment, Fig. 5 (not shown), a third container (31), within the outer container 1, communicates with the valve housing through a second ball valve (32). The outer container in this embodiment may contain propellant or a propellant and a liquid to be dispensed. In the former case a dip tube (20) communicating with the valve housing has a plug (31) in its lower end and in the latter case the plug is replaced by a ball valve. The outer metal container may contain one, two or three flexible containers. Two separately held liquids may be hydrogen peroxide, and sodium hypophosphite or potassium sulphite and lathering ingredients.
