936,867. Flexible containers; oil cans. G. N. PETTERSEN. April 27, 1962 [April 29, 1961], No. 16200/62. Class 66. [Also in Group XVIII] A dispensing container 1 e.g. for oil, of flexible resilient material has a porous plug 6 held in an enlargement 5 of its spout and joined through a non-capillary passage 4 tc the interior of the container, pressure on the container wall causing a drop of liquid tc be delivered via the plug and on release of the pressure the liquid being drawn back through the passage 4 intc the container interior. The container may be of plastics material, and the plug 6 of wool felt thread. More than one drop is dispensed if the pressure on the container is not released. To obtain a higher rate of delivery the plug is pushed further into the enlargement 5, which may have an inward taper, Fig. 2 (not shown). Internal projections may be formed at the inner end of the enlargement to space the plug from the mouth of the passage 4, Fig. 3 (not shown).
