Abstract

1,063,480. Two stroke I. C. engines; valve gear. VILLIERS ENGINEERING CO. Ltd. and B. HOOPER. Nov. 2, 1964 [Dec. 17, 1963], No.49893/63. Heading F1B. In a two-stroke I. C. engine in which each piston rod 10 is connected to a pair of discs 11 which are closely confined by the crank-case 13, each cylinder 14 is supplied with fuel/air mixture through an inlet port 17 in the crank-case wall controlled by a crank-shaft driven rotary valve 19 mounted with its axis of rotation parallel _ to the crank-shaft axis. A carburetter 15 supplies fuel/air mixture through passages 16 to each cylinder of a twin-cylinder engine. The valve shaft 20, carrying a valve 19 at each end, is driven by spur gears 21, from the crank-shaft.
