Abstract

The hook has two grips (10,11) connected by a common leg (12), the grips being situated in the same plane but on opposite sides of the leg. The lower pincer (10) grips the tile while the upper, pincer (11) fixes the hook to the lintel. The upper pincer is formed by an elastically deformable buckle with an end piece (13) extending for its entire length and facing a corresponding part of the leg. The housing (15) receives the round end (16) of the metal lattice wing (17), while a space (E) between the end piece and the leg grips the top part of the tile.

Description

 The present invention relates to the hooks usually used for laying sheet elements, in particular slates, in order to produce a covering, or even a coating on a wall.

 As is known, slates or other plate elements, of little thickness, are supported by battens with which they are associated by hooks.

 The hooks currently known can be classified into two categories, namely the hooks comprising a clamp formed at the end of a jamb to pinch the slate, and, at one end of the jamb, a tab for fixing by points or other to a strip, and the hooks comprising, in addition to the aforementioned clamp, a second clamp intended to allow the fixing of the hook on a strip by pinching.

 The present invention relates to the hooks of the second category above.

 Generally the battens are made of wood, they are most often obtained from a little hard wood so that the clamps ensuring the fixing of the hooks on the battens become relatively quickly embedded in them under the effects of the wind and the elasticity of the clamp.

 However, when the clamps, after a certain time, are encrusted in the battens, they no longer fulfill their role, and the slates or other plate elements with which they cooperate are no longer firmly held.

 This results in more or less pronounced lifting of the slates, especially during inclement weather, and as a result of the flatness of the cover or the coating thus produced which can give rise to a defective seal.

In addition, roofs or coatings made with wooden battens are poorly fire resistant.

 The present invention generally relates to a hook for a covering or covering element, which, in combination with a metal lath, makes it possible to obtain a covering or a covering free from the drawbacks mentioned. above.

 The hook for a plate element, in particular slate, of the kind comprising two clamps joined by a common jamb, and which located in the same plane, are arranged in opposition on either side of the jamb, a first clamp being adapted to pinch an element, and a second clamp for securing the hook on a batten, is characterized in that the second clamp is formed by a loosely deformable loop with a terminal strand extending over its entire length opposite a corresponding part of the jamb.

 Depending on the embodiment chosen and shown in the figures, the hook for a plate element, in particular slate, comprises first and second clamps 10, 11, said below, for a better understanding, respectively lower and upper, combined by a common jamb 12.

 The two clamps 10, 11, are located in the same plane, and arranged in opposition on either side of the jamb 10.

 The upper clamp 11, which is an extension of the leg 12, is constituted by a loop with a terminal strand 13 extending over its entire height opposite a corresponding part of the leg, the end 14 of this terminal strand is substantially located opposite a connection zone of the loop to the leg 12 and forms a housing 15 intended to receive a bead 16 formed in the terminal part of a wing 17 of a metal lattice, known per se, and shown in broken lines consisting of a central core 18 from which starts at 900 said aforementioned wing, as well as another wing 19 in opposition to the previous one, but in the same plane.

 The jamb 12 forms, with the end strand 13 of the loop, a space E which is slightly increasing from the upper part of the hook towards its lower part.

 In the example shown the upper clamp 11 is formed by a generally polygonal loop, in this case quadrangular, with from the connection zone of the loop to the leg 12, a section 11A perpendicular to the leg, followed by a section vertical descending 11B, itself followed by a horizontal section llC situated opposite the section llA, the end strand 12A of the loop being in the extension of the above-mentioned horizontal section, and as already said facing a part of the leg 12.

 In FIG. 2 is partially seen a cover made up of plate elements, such as slates, held by hooks, according to the invention, associated with metal laths.

 In this figure, we see that the slates A are pinched in the lower part by the lower clamp 10 of a hook, while, in the upper part they are engaged in another hook, and this, in the space E formed between the end strand 13 and a part opposite the jamb 12.

 In this figure, P indicates the gauge, FP the false gauge, and R the overlap. The space E being slightly increasing from the upper part of the leg towards its lower part (in other words the leg 12 noting obliquely with respect to the terminal strand 13) this arrangement allows the leg 12 to be, over its entire length in contact with a corresponding part of the slates A, as is clearly visible in particular in FIG. 1.

 It will be noted that the length of the jamb 12 will depend on the destination of the hooks (use as a cover or as a facade covering).

 The structure of the upper clamp 11 allows a flawless association of the hooks with the metal laths, so that a cover, or even a facade cladding, in which the plate elements are held by such hooks has a mechanical resistance substantially increased compared to the known technique.

 It is understood that the rafters "C" on which are fixed the metal laths "L" could also be metallic in order to constitute a cover or coating particularly resistant to fire.

 Of course, the invention is not limited to the embodiment chosen and shown given by way of example, which could on the contrary be subject to modifications without departing from the scope of the present invention.

Claims (7)

 1. Hook intended for the production of roofing, or coverings made up of plate elements, in particular slates of the kind comprising two clamps joined by a common jamb, and which, situated in the same plane, are arranged in opposition on both sides. 'other of the jamb, a first clamp called by lower convenience being adapted to pinch a slate, and a second clamp called by greater convenience to ensure the fixing of the hook on a batten, characterized in that the upper clamp (11) is formed by an elastically deformable loop with a terminal strand (13) extending over its entire length, opposite a corresponding part of the leg (12).  2. Hook according to claim 1, characterized in that a housing (15) for a bead formed in the metal lath is formed between a zone of connection of the loop (11) with the leg (12) and the free end of the said terminal strand.  3. Hook according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that a space (E) is provided between the aforementioned end strand (13) and the leg (12) in order to allow engagement and pinching in this area of a high slate end part.  4. Hook according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the loop (11) forms between its connection zone with an upper part of the leg (12) and the free end of said strand (13), a generally outline polygonal.  5. Hook according to claim 4, characterized in that, from its connection zone with the upper part of the jamb (12), the loop (11) has a section section (llA) perpendicular to the jamb (12), followed a section (llB) and a third section (lake) respectively parallel to the leg (12) and to the section (llA), while the fourth section constitutes the terminal strand (13).  6.
